The Chainsmokers light up Disrupt 2024

    TechCrunch Events 6:00 AM PDT · May 28, 2024

The dynamic duo behind the Grammy Award–winning music group the Chainsmokers, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, are set to bring their entrepreneurial expertise to TechCrunch Disrupt 2024.

Known for their chart-topping hits, Pall and Taggart have expanded their influence into the world of venture capital. In 2020, they launched Mantis Venture Capital, a firm managing nearly $250M in assets and focused on backing companies committed to a sustainable future.

At TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, Pall and Taggart will sit down for a fireside chat titled “How the Chainsmokers Bring Value Beyond Their Celebrity Status.” They will be joined by Dan Lorenc, co-founder and CEO of Chainguard, a company specializing in software supply chain security. This session will explore how Mantis VC supports startups in sectors where their celebrity influence is not a primary driver of success.

The discussion will delve into their strategic approach to investing, emphasizing the importance of adding real value to B2B startups.

The Chainsmokers have successfully ventured into various businesses, including having a stake in JAJA Tequila and founding Kick the Habit Productions, a film and television production company. Their entrepreneurial spirit is matched by their philanthropy, notably funding the production of N95 masks during the COVID-19 pandemic and supporting underprivileged children, earning them the Key of Hope Award from Youth Emerging Stronger.

Don’t miss the opportunity to attend this fireside chat at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 and gain insights on building value and driving innovation. Register now and save up to $800 before the early-bird sale ends on May 31.
